Our Story

A House Built on Honour.

For one hundred years, Royale has stood for something rare: a place where chance and craft meet under the same chandelier — and where the door is always answered by name.

Since 1924

Founded by a gentleman who believed the table should be the equal of any opera house.

Édouard Lacroix opened the first Royale salon on a stretch of the Côte d'Azur where the sea arrived more politely than elsewhere. He insisted on three things: that the dealers be paid better than the bankers, that the lighting flatter every guest equally, and that no one ever be made to feel they had stayed too long.

A century on, those three rules still govern every floor we open. We have grown from a single room above a Mediterranean café into a society of salons spanning four continents and forty-thousand-square-feet of green felt. The chandeliers are different. The principles are not.

What We Hold

Principles of the House

Discretion

What happens at our tables stays at our tables. Encryption that bankers envy. Staff who took oaths.

Patience

We have waited a century for the right members. We will not now rush to admit the wrong ones.

Fairness

Every shuffle audited. Every spin certified. Every payout honoured the same hour. The house always plays by its own rules.

Excellence

Dealers trained for two years before a single hand is dealt. Tables polished by hand. The little things, all of them.

Hospitality

Concierge in twelve languages. Cars at the door. Suites held when the night runs long — and the night often does.

Responsibility

Limits respected. Self-exclusion honoured the second it is asked. We would rather lose a player than break one.

Common Questions

For the Curious

How does Royale verify fairness? +

Every shuffle, spin, and deal is audited by independent regulators in Malta and Monaco, with cryptographic seeds published quarterly. Our payout rate is independently verified at 98.7%.

Is membership truly invitation-only? +

Applications open to those who meet our standards of conduct and verification. We accept roughly thirty-eight percent of those who apply. Existing members may also extend a personal invitation, which carries weight.

What are the limits of play? +

Limits are set by table and by member. Lower-limit salons begin at five euros; the Crown Room begins at ten thousand. Members may set their own daily, weekly, or monthly ceilings, and we will honour them without question.

How quickly are winnings paid? +

Within the same banking hour for verified members, regardless of amount. For the largest payouts, our concierge will handle the wire personally and call you when it has cleared.

What does responsible play mean here? +

It means we would rather lose a member than harm one. Self-exclusion is honoured immediately and irrevocably for the period requested. Our concierge will help any member who wishes to step away — with no questions, and no paperwork beyond their word.
